DHRUV is an AI-powered study application for CBSE Class 9 and 10 students ("DHRUV", "we", "us", or "our"). DHRUV is operated by Parth Ravi Gupta, reachable at parth@dhruvlife.com.

By using the DHRUV app (available at dhruvlife.com), you agree to this Privacy Policy.

We collect the following categories of data when you use DHRUV:

Account & Identity

• Full name, mobile number, and email address (provided at sign-up)

• Class (9 or 10), board (CBSE), language preference

Study & Academic Data

• Subjects and subject variants selected (e.g., Standard vs. Basic Mathematics)

• Exam dates, exam types, and chapter selections

• Study progress per chapter (learned, struggled, mastered)

• Answers to practice questions and mock tests

• Flashcard responses, hint usage, and session durations

• School exam marks entered by you

• AI-generated study notes and personal notes

Gamification & Engagement

• Dhruv Points (DP), daily streaks, badges, and level

• Leaderboard participation preference

Device & Technical Data

• Browser/device user agent

• IP address (at time of consent)

• Push notification subscription token (if you grant permission)

• App usage sessions and timestamps

AI Interaction Data

• Questions asked to the AI tutor

• Photo answers submitted for evaluation

• Hint requests and AI responses

We use your data solely to provide and improve DHRUV:

• Personalise your daily study plan based on your exam dates, progress, and weak areas

• Deliver AI-powered lessons, flashcards, practice questions, and hints

• Track your streaks, points, and academic progress

• Send study reminders and push notifications (only if you consent)

• Show your rank on the leaderboard (only if you opt in)

• Improve the accuracy and quality of AI content

• Detect and fix bugs or technical issues

We do NOT use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your education.

We never sell your personal data.

We share limited data only with the following service providers, strictly for operating DHRUV:

• Supabase (database and authentication) — stores your profile and study data securely

• Groq / Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude (AI providers) — your questions and photos are sent to AI models to generate answers. No personally identifiable information (name, phone, email) is sent to AI providers — only educational content (question text, chapter context, photo of your handwritten answer)

• Vercel (hosting) — serves the DHRUV web app

• Web Push providers (browser-native) — for delivering push notifications

All service providers are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential and to use it only for the services they provide to DHRUV.

Your data is stored in Supabase databases with industry-standard security:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)

• Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth — we never store plain-text passwords

• Row-Level Security (RLS) ensures you can only access your own data

• We retain your study data for as long as your account is active

• If you delete your account, all study data is permanently erased immediately. Your name, email, and phone number are retained in our records for a minimum period as required under applicable law, after which they are also deleted.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — Download all your data at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data → Download My Data

• Correction — Edit your name, phone, or email in Settings

• Deletion — Permanently delete your account and all study data from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Account

• Notification opt-out — Disable push notifications anytime in Settings → Notification Preferences

• Leaderboard opt-out — Remove yourself from the leaderboard anytime in Settings → Leaderboard

DHRUV is designed for students aged 13 and above (Class 9 and 10). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used DHRUV, please contact us at parth@dhruvlife.com and we will promptly delete their account and data.

DHRUV uses browser local storage and session storage to:

• Keep you logged in between sessions

• Store your onboarding progress locally

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of DHRUV after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India.
